Getting started

Bugzilla is an open issue and bug tracking tool. In case you have not yet registered a Bugzilla account, follow the steps on the Bugzilla website to create a Bugzilla account. Follow these steps to integrate JIRA with your Bugzilla account using the Bugzilla JIRA Integration plugin.

Step 1: Retrieve your Bugzilla API Token

Login to your Bugzilla account Go to Preferences in the Home menu

Go to API Keys in the Preferences menu

Copy the API-key under Existing API Keys.

If there is no API key available, select Generate a new API key with optional description and click on Submit Changes

Step 2: Enter the Bugzilla API Key value

Go to the Bugzilla Connector for JIRA add-on page in JIRA (Main panel > Bugzilla Connector for JIRA).

Enter the Bugzilla URL and Bugzilla API key value

Enter the required Bugzilla issue field parameters

The Product and Component parameters should correspond to the Product and Component parameters in Bugzilla. By default the Status for each new JIRA issue in Bugzilla will be set to ‘Unconfirmed’ and the Type will be set to ‘Defect’.

Click on Save

Step 3: Create your first Bugzilla bug from a JIRA issue

Go to the issue view of an issue that you would like to save to your Bugzilla instance.

Click on the three dots (∘∘∘) icon on the right side of the issue view.

Click on Add bug to Bugzilla to save the issue as a defect in Bugzilla. A confirmation dialog should appear.

Step 4: Validate the result in Bugzilla

Login to your Bugzilla instance.

Go to your Dashboard.

You should see that the JIRA issue is added to your Bugzilla instance.
